The Author (that's me)

This blog is operated by a single, unsponsored individual, J (that's me), who strives to provide a useful though extremely limited perspective on coping with mental disorders in a Christian context. The disorders I struggle with are Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Major Depressive Disorder (MDD, also referred to as Major Depression or Clinical Depression). I also struggle with insecure attachment and compulsive/addictive behavior. Because of the subject matter and in an effort to speak openly about that subject matter, I have decided to maintain relative anonymity by using the pseudonym “J.” This serves to protect my own identity as well as the identities and reputations of family, friends, and foes that may from time to time pop up in various posts. The perspective I present is that of a “patient” or “client,” not a therapist or counselor. I am not even a little bit certified as a professional in the mental health field or any other field requiring certification. Similarly, I am in no way an expert or an “ordained” anything in the religious realm. I am not an authority on any subject matter, and though I strive to seek and speak the truth, I will undoubtedly err on occasion. And that is where you, the reader, come in.

The Reader (that's you)

If you read or view any portion of this blog, or any content linked to it or from it, I entrust to you the charge given to the church in Thessalonica by Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, “Test everything; hold fast what is good” (1 Thess 5:21); and the practice for which the people of Berea were esteemed “noble,” “they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so” (Acts 17:11). That means that you, the reader, are responsible for researching and validating all content presented on this blog and should only act on ideas you judge to be sound. I cannot have any part in nor any accountability for your judgments or actions based thereon. So please use discernment and weigh all content wisely.

I really will try to acknowledge when I am clearly in the wrong.
